Elena is a former competitive speed skater with deep roots in the sport. From 2008 to 2014, she competed with South Korea’s Jeollabuk-do provincial team, where she was ranked #1 on the team and placed 5th Nationally before retiring. Though she stepped away from competition, her passion for speed skating remained strong. During high school summer breaks, she returned to Korea to assist in training the provincial team and has since continued coaching, volunteering at her local club for the past three summers.
Elena’s coaching goes beyond technical development. She sees sport as a vehicle for teaching life skills such as discipline, resilience, teamwork, and confidence. She values building strong, personal connections with each athlete, creating an environment where they can thrive both as skaters and as individuals. For her, the most rewarding part of coaching is watching young athletes grow on and off the ice.
