Officially founded on June 4, 2025, York Speed Skating Club is Ontario’s newest addition to the Speed Skating Ontario community. Co-founded by Ms. Krisztina Papp (Head Coach) and Ms. Tracy Hong (President), YSSC welcomes skaters of all levels, from beginners to elite athletes competing at provincial and national levels.

Our mission is to offer a fresh and holistic approach to speed skating. In addition to on-ice training, we emphasize general fitness, nutrition education, mental health awareness, and leadership development for youth. We believe speed skating is about more than just going fast it’s a powerful tool for building balanced, resilient, and confident individuals.

YSSC is led by Head Coach Krisztina "Tina" Papp, a former national level speed skater who has represented both Hungary and Serbia. With years of competitive and coaching experience Coach Tina brings technical expertise and a deep passion for athlete development.
